Goddess SARASWATI Maa (Knowledge of god)

Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of wisdom, knowledge, music and all the creative arts. She is the Mother of the Vedas and the repository of Brahma's creative intelligence. Goddess Saraswati is the wife (consort) of Lord Brahma and is also called Vak Devi; the goddess of speech. She possesses the power of speech, wisdom and learning.

Usually dressed in white (sign of purity), Saraswati holds a palm leaf scroll, indicating knowledge. Her vehicle is swan. She plays music of love and life on the Veena.She is worshipped especially on Basant Panchami, celebrated on the onset of spring; the festival is celebrated on the 5th day of the lunar month of Magh. It marks the beginning of new life with yellow mustard flowers staring to bloom.
